What can I do for myself?

Acknowledge feelings

Violence is happening to someone around me. What can I do?

A person who is experiencing violence/abuse in a relationship might be experiencing shame and confusing thoughts about the situation one is in.

If your friend/family member needs help, you can:

  • Provide emotional support by providing a listening ear

  • Encouraging him/her to seek help at the nearest FSC

  • Accompany your friend/family member to seek help. Going to the police or the FSC and sharing what is happening can be anxiety-provoking
